In a quest for creative inspiration, Takeo Nanachi and his friends venture into a secluded rural village, only to stumble upon an eerie festival that unfolds once every few decades. With aspirations of restoring his grandfather's ancient sword, Takeo is eager to engage with the village's traditions. However, the customs of the festival create a barrier for outsiders, leaving him on the fringes as the mysterious events unfold.

As a sudden car breakdown strands him in the village, Takeo becomes increasingly entangled in the villagers' haunting rituals. Amidst the dark allure of their practices, he develops a profound connection with Kuraki Fuzuchi, the heir to the village's spiritual legacy.
