Since ancient times, warriors known as Saints have risen to defend the goddess Athena whenever darkness threatens the world. Their power is tied to an energy called “Cosmos,” awakened in those chosen to fight in her name.

Saori Kido discovers that Cosmos is real—and that she is Athena reborn, a guardian of love and peace on Earth. Her claim is rejected by the Pope of Sanctuary, the leader who commands the Saints, who brands her an impostor and orders her death.
