Set against the backdrop of the 37th year of the Meiji Era (1904), during the tumultuous Russo-Japanese War, a small Japanese military force relies on a unique flying vessel, the Amanohara, aided by a benevolent demon. This extraordinary ship launches a daring assault on the Russian stronghold at Port Arthur.

Umakai Shintaro, a defector from Russia who has Japanese roots, settles in Sapporo to teach at an unconventional girls' academy aboard the Amanohara. Here, he encounters the Raimu Unit, a group of five talented girls capable of summoning formidable entities to aid in battle. As Shintaro takes on the dual role of their mentor and military leader, he guides the girls in their quest to harness their powers, confront their personal challenges, and prepare for the pivotal conflict at Lushun. Meanwhile, the looming presence of the "Russian Spiritual Corps," including a familiar face from Shintaro's past, adds layers of complexity to their mission.
