Hakuoki ~Demon of the Fleeting Blossom~ Wild Dance of Kyoto

Disguising herself as a boy, Chizuru Yukimura leaves her secluded home for Kyoto to find her missing father, the physician Koudou Yukimura. The capital is anything but safe: she’s attacked in the streets by ronin, only to witness them cut down by eerie, white-haired, red-eyed swordsmen—who are then swiftly eliminated by members of the Shinsengumi, the shogunate’s elite police force.

Taken into Shinsengumi custody for questioning, Chizuru learns they’re searching for the same man she is. Their commander permits her to remain under their protection as the investigation continues, and she begins assisting vice-commander Toshizou Hijikata. As she settles into their world, the unrest consuming Kyoto and the mysterious, demonlike warriors she saw that night start to intertwine with her own fate.
