Detective Conan Movie 07: Crossroad in the Ancient Capital

A masked figure dressed like a samurai begins a brutal string of killings across Japan—three in Tokyo, one in Osaka, and one in Kyoto. Investigators soon find a shared link: each victim belonged to the Genjibotaru, a gang of thieves known for stealing Buddhist statues and relics and for taking the names of Minamoto no Yoshitsune’s legendary retainers.

The trail shifts to Kyoto when a local temple seeks out Kogorou Mouri after receiving an anonymous letter containing a strange riddle tied to a long-missing statue. Conan Edogawa joins forces with high school detective Heiji Hattori to decode the puzzle and hunt the murderer, all while Heiji quietly searches Kyoto for the girl he loved as a child.

With Heiji’s familiarity with the ancient capital guiding their search, the clues begin to align—but the samurai strikes again, targeting more Genjibotaru members, making repeated attempts on Heiji’s life, and ultimately abducting his childhood sweetheart. To stop the bloodshed and rescue her in time, Conan and Heiji must piece together the hidden connections buried within Kyoto’s streets and history.
