In 1939, the world reels under the assault of the Neuroi—mysterious alien war machines whose formidable armor renders conventional weaponry nearly useless. As humanity’s defenses falter in an increasingly one-sided war, desperate efforts turn toward developing a breakthrough that can finally challenge the invaders.

That answer comes in the form of the Striker Unit, an advanced system that channels the natural magical abilities of young girls into combat power. These fighters, known as Witches, are recruited from across the globe, with the 501st Joint Fighter Wing—Strike Witches—taking a leading role on the front lines of the conflict.
