Modern is a visually striking film that explores the boundaries of animation through innovative geometric forms. Inspired by the mind-bending optical illusions found in the works of M.C. Escher, the film employs isometric drawings to create a captivating world where rectangular parallelepipeds undergo mesmerizing transformations.

Utilizing a unique blend of geometric animation techniques reminiscent of classic works like Metropolis, this project showcases a commitment to pushing the limits of visual storytelling. Alongside traditional "cell" animation, the creator, Mirai Mizue, continues to experiment with these methods, with aspirations to discover new techniques that will further enrich the cinematic experience.
