Hotaru Tachibana can’t ignore wrongdoing, and she often presents herself as a boy. When she hears that her best friend may have been deceived by Masamune Matsuoka, a popular host at a local club, she storms in to set things right—only to be pulled into a “survival game” duel where toy guns decide the winner with a single hit.

After the confrontation leaves the club in shambles and Hotaru on the losing end, Masamune demands repayment by drafting the stubborn “boy” into his survival game team, Toy Gun Gun. What starts as an unwanted obligation turns into a genuine interest in the sport, even as teammate Tooru Yukimura resents the disruption. As Hotaru grows closer to the group, she sets her sights on helping Toy Gun Gun chase victory at the Top Combat Game (TCG), a tournament to crown Japan’s best survival game team—despite a glaring setback: she’s not very good, and the team has a strict no-girls rule.
