Accel World: Infinite∞Burst

Sometime after the clash with the Burst Linker known as Dusk Taker, Kuroyukihime looks back on the moment she brought Haruyuki Arita into Brain Burst—an application that pushes a player’s cognition into overdrive until the world seems to stand still. Since then, Haruyuki has earned recognition among fellow Burst Linkers, fighting alongside Kuroyukihime as she pursues the top level of the game.

But during a territorial battle involving their legion, Nega Nebulus, a violent in-game storm triggers a catastrophic malfunction that expels Haruyuki and his friends from Brain Burst entirely. As security cameras across Tokyo begin to fail, Kuroyukihime suspects the real-world disruption is tied to the same glitch. With their acceleration ability on the line, Nega Nebulus sets out to enlist rival legions and track down the source before the breakdown spreads any further.
