Hatena Illusion

Long ago, powerful magical “Artifacts” were stolen and scattered across the world, ending up with people never meant to possess them. Misfortune follows when their abilities are misused, so the magician Hoshisato family—who uniquely can access these items—works to recover them and return them to where they belong.

Kana “Hatena” Hoshisato longs to help her parents, Mamoru and Maeve, despite her lack of experience, and throws herself into improving. Her daily life shifts when her childhood friend Makoto Shiranui arrives at the Hoshisato mansion to study magic under Mamoru, honoring a promise from years ago. Hatena’s excitement quickly turns sour when she learns the “girl” she remembered is actually a boy, setting the stage for an awkward, prickly reunion.

As Makoto is drawn into the world of Artifacts and discovers the true identities of the magicians he’s admired, he refuses to be shaken. He keeps training with a clear purpose: to bring comfort to those around him—and to grow into someone worthy of standing beside Hatena.
