Case Closed Movie 23: The Fist of Blue Sapphire

Off the coast of Singapore lies the legend of the “Blue Lapis Fist,” a priceless blue sapphire believed to have gone down with a pirate ship in the late 19th century. When a local millionaire sets out to recover the gem and put it on display at the Marina Sands hotel, the exhibition is rocked by a murder—and a bloodstained calling card from Kaitou Kid left at the scene deepens the mystery.

Ran and Sonoko arrive in Singapore to watch a karate tournament, while Conan is meant to remain in Japan due to not having a passport. Instead, Kaitou Kid drags him overseas through a trick of his own, leaving Conan without his usual tools and forced into disguise. Taking the improvised name “Arthur Hirai,” he tries to navigate the case and Kid’s demands, as Kid closes in on the sapphire’s location in an underground vault—only to run into a trap and the undefeated karate powerhouse Makoto Kyogoku, riding a 400-win streak.
