InuYasha the Movie: Affections Touching Across Time

While searching the Sengoku-era countryside for the scattered shards of the Shikon Jewel, Inuyasha, Kagome Higurashi, and their allies draw the attention of Menoumaru Hyouga—an ancient demon revived by a jewel fragment and fixated on claiming Tessaiga, Inuyasha’s inherited sword. A past conflict between their fathers left Tessaiga tied to the Hyouga clan’s legacy, making it the key to restoring what Menoumaru believes is his rightful inheritance.

Menoumaru’s plans stall when he learns the blade can only be wielded by its true master. Refusing to relent, he abducts Kagome to force Inuyasha’s hand and unlock the sealed power of the Hyouga.
