Nyaight of the Living Cat

In the 21st century, people’s affection for cats has become nearly universal—almost everyone keeps one. That devotion backfires when selective breeding produces an unusual cat carrying a mysterious virus. The resulting outbreak, known as the Nyandemic, spreads the moment a person comes into contact with an infected feline, transforming humans into cats as well.

Kunagi, an amnesiac man, is forced to run for his life when chaos erupts during his shift at a cat café. He escapes alongside the café’s sibling owners, Gaku and Kaoru, and a patron named Tanishi—until Gaku admits he’s already infected and begs Kunagi to keep Kaoru safe. As the Nyandemic overwhelms even government efforts to contain it, Kunagi, Kaoru, and Tanishi push forward in search of a way to survive the very creatures they once couldn’t resist.
