During college, Sam Young pours countless hours into creating *Ruminate*, an adventure puzzle game that represents her long-held goal of becoming a real game developer—an ambition shaped in part by a childhood marked by serious illness. Her hopes take a sudden hit when her favorite streamer, Marshall Law, plays the game, misreads what it’s trying to do, and labels it the worst he’s ever experienced. The fallout is immediate: his audience floods *Ruminate* with harsh reviews, putting Sam’s future in doubt.

Things get even more complicated when Marshall ends up as Sam’s new neighbor, not realizing she’s the developer he publicly tore apart. Even though he comes across as considerate and approachable, Sam can’t easily bring herself to connect with him. Before she can move forward with her next project, *Evermake*, she has to find a way to rebuild her reputation and steady her path forward.
