Nils Holgersson, a mischievous young boy living on a farm, finds himself facing the consequences of his unkind behavior toward the animals. After a series of pranks, he encounters a little goblin that transforms him into a tiny version of himself. Now at the mercy of the very creatures he once tormented, Nils must navigate a world where he is no longer the dominant force.

In his quest to return to his normal size, he escapes on the back of Morten, a brave goose. Together, they join a flock of wild geese on an expansive journey across Sweden.
