In the vibrant streets of Shinjuku in 1983, Akutsu Jouji finds himself at a low point after losing a violent altercation with a university cheering squad. Overcome with despair, he struggles to navigate the challenges of life as a member of the Kaeda Yakuza. A decade later, his world spirals further into chaos when a friend is ordered to eliminate him, forcing Jouji into a desperate escape that culminates in his tragic end.

However, fate has different plans for Jouji. He awakens back in 1983, right at the moment of that fateful clash with the university students. Armed with the knowledge and experiences of the past ten years, he confronts the situation with newfound resolve and insight. Determined to forge a fresh path, Jouji vows to don a gold emblem as a symbol of his commitment to change and begins to rebuild his life amidst the intricate web of organized crime and personal redemption.
