Jiu Se Lu

In a time long past, a Persian merchant finds himself disoriented amidst a fierce windstorm, only to encounter a mystical nine-colored deer that guides him to safety. This ethereal creature, embodying the spirit of the land, later comes to the aid of a drowning man, who, in gratitude, vows to keep the deer’s existence a secret. However, the allure of the deer’s extraordinary nature proves too tempting for the man, who ultimately succumbs to greed.

When an ambitious king learns of the deer, he becomes determined to capture it for a lavish garment crafted from its enchanting skin. The once-heroic man, now driven by desire, leads a battalion to hunt the deer, but fate takes a twisted turn. As he plunges back into the river, hoping for another chance at salvation, the forces of nature respond, turning his companions' arrows to dust, leading to a tragic end. The tale unfolds as a cautionary reflection on the consequences of greed and the fragile balance between the natural and the human world.
