In the quiet village of Mahoroba, life moves at an unhurried pace—until two standout students at the elite Ototachibana Academy find their worlds colliding. Reserved and soft-spoken Himeko and the poised, confident Chikane seem like opposites, yet a deep bond draws them together even as circumstances strain what they feel for one another.

On their shared birthday, an ominous presence twists a friend into attacking them, pushing the pair to the brink. In that moment, the dormant powers of the lunar and solar shrine maidens awaken within Himeko and Chikane, driving back the threat.
