The Poem of Wind and Trees

Set against the backdrop of a prestigious French boarding school in 1887, "The Poem of Wind and Trees" explores the poignant memories of Serge Battour as he reflects on his formative years. Having returned after graduation, he recalls the complexities of his youth, marked by a deep sense of isolation stemming from his lineage. The son of a viscount and a Roma woman, Serge grapples with his identity while navigating the elite world around him.

Back in 1880, Serge’s life takes a turn when he is assigned a roommate, the enigmatic Gilbert Cocteau. Gilbert, a strikingly handsome yet solitary figure, harbors his own secrets and engages in activities that leave Serge curious and concerned. Despite several failed attempts at connection, an undeniable bond begins to form between the two boys, drawing them together as they confront the challenges of their circumstances and the uncharted territory of their feelings.
