In Domino City, “Duel Monsters” has taken off as a citywide obsession. Duels are straightforward but intense: two Duelists face off using monster cards from their decks, each beginning with 2,000 Life Points, and the first to have their Life Points reduced to zero loses.

Shougo Aoyama, a shy boy new to the spotlight, purchases a deck containing the famed Red-Eyes Black Dragon—an iconic card rumored to reward the brave with victory. As news of Shougo’s rare card spreads, it draws the attention of Seto Kaiba, a relentless competitor determined to claim the strongest cards by any means. Kaiba summons Shougo and his rival Yuugi Mutou to a Duel Monsters tournament, where Shougo must find the courage to duel despite his fear of defeat.
