Yu☆Gi☆Oh!

Yuugi Mutou is an easy target for school bullies, often relying on his childhood friend Anzu Mazaki to step in when things go too far. Katsuya Jonouchi and his constant companion Hiroto Honda bring plenty of friction into Yuugi’s life, even if they don’t seem truly malicious. More than anything, Yuugi longs for a genuine friend—someone who will understand him and never betray his trust.

That wish is tied to the Millennium Puzzle, an ancient Egyptian relic kept in his grandfather’s game shop. When Yuugi finally completes the puzzle, it awakens a second persona within him: Yami Yuugi, the “King of Games.” Colder and far more formidable than Yuugi, Yami Yuugi emerges whenever faced with injustice, drawing opponents into dangerous “Shadow Games” where defeat forces them to confront the darkness hidden in their own hearts.
