Synopsis
Set in an alternate world styled after Edo-period Japan, *One Piece: The Detective Memoirs of Chief Straw Hat Luffy* reimagines Luffy as a police officer dealing with odd cases around town. The special unfolds across two adventures: one in which Buggy stirs up trouble, and another where a mysterious girl named Vivi makes her appearance (aired after Episode 253).
Along the way, familiar faces from across *One Piece* show up in cameo roles. The story later received an additional two-episode continuation that aired after Episode 290 as part of a New Year’s special.
