Mushi-shi: Next Passage Part 2

Ghostly, ancient life-forms called Mushi continue to brush against the human world, leaving behind quiet mysteries and unsettling changes. Ginko, a wandering Mushishi, travels from village to village to investigate these disturbances and ease the harm they cause. The effects can be immediate and uncanny—time caught in loops, shadows that move with a will of their own, even telepathic connections—yet some symptoms unfold so slowly that only years later do they reveal their true cost.

As Ginko intervenes, he’s often forced into the role of judge, weighing whether a Mushi’s influence is a gift or a curse. The answers are rarely clear: some people cling to newfound abilities even as they consume them, while others fight to cast off “afflictions” that may be the only thing keeping worse tragedy at bay. Those touched by Mushi must face consequences that defy common sense, and find ways to mend wounds they never realized they carried.
