Three years after the gateway to the Digital World was sealed, Taichi Yagami and the other Chosen Children have begun to drift into separate lives. Now a second-year high school student, Taichi feels the pressure to grow up—especially as his friends start to find direction, while he remains uncertain about what comes next.

That uneasy calm shatters when an insectoid Digimon, Kuwagamon, suddenly appears in the real world and wreaks havoc on the city’s electronics. Taichi throws himself into the pursuit and is quickly pushed to the brink, until the Digivice he never let go of lights up and Agumon returns. With Kuwagamon defeated, new questions surface: why are Digimon crossing over again, what is unfolding in the Digital World, and how might it connect to Meiko Mochizuki, a new transfer student in Taichi’s class?
