Infected Digimon—digital monsters driven into a berserk state and suddenly growing far stronger—begin crossing into the real world. As Maki Himekawa and Daigo Nishijima of the enigmatic Incorporated Administrative Agency investigate the unsettling incidents, the Chosen Children try to keep up with everyday life while preparing for Tsukishima General High School’s summer festival.

Recently back in Japan after years in the United States, Mimi Tachikawa has trouble settling in with her classmates and reconnecting with the group. At the same time, Jou Kido buries himself in studying to avoid anything involving Digimon, pushing his partner Gomamon to the point of running away. Their choices strain the team’s unity just as the danger escalates, leaving everyone to wonder whether Mimi and Jou can face what they’ve been avoiding before the next threat hits.
