Ten years after humans, gods, and demons united to stop the colossal dragon Bahamut, the balance between the races has shifted again. In the capital city of Anatae, prosperity flourishes under the rule of the newly crowned King Charioce XVII—thanks in part to a power he seized from the gods. That same rule has also sanctioned the oppression and enslavement of demons, stoking anger in demon communities and leaving the gods uneasy as they move to reclaim what was taken from them.

Into this tense city comes Nina Drango, an upbeat young bounty hunter hoping to build a stable life.
