The Highschool Life of a Fudanshi

Ryou Sakaguchi looks like an ordinary high schooler—until you learn his one “secret” pastime: he’s a fudanshi who can’t resist boys’ love manga and can’t help imagining romantic possibilities wherever he goes. More than anything, he wants friends he can be honest with about what he enjoys.

That hope starts to take shape when he meets others with overlapping interests and equally strong personalities: Rumi Nishihara, a fujoshi who’s been keeping her fandom quiet; Yuujirou Shiratori, the openly gay and flamboyant head of the cooking club; Akira Ueda, Shiratori’s devoted admirer; and Daigo, a playful fellow fudanshi known for creating boys’ love doujinshi. Watching the otaku-fueled commotion from the sidelines is Sakaguchi’s best friend, Toshiaki Nakamura, who’d really prefer everyone acted a little more “normal.”
