Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!

On the morning of his 10th birthday, Satoshi sleeps in and misses his chance to choose the partner Pokémon he’d hoped for—leaving him paired with a headstrong Pikachu instead. Their first days together are anything but smooth, but the two gradually grow into genuine friends and reliable partners. After they spot the Legendary Pokémon Houou soaring overhead, Satoshi sets his sights on finding it, following the trail of a Rainbow Wing left in its wake.

Joined by fellow Trainers Makoto and Souji, Satoshi continues his travels: he takes in an abandoned Hitokage, helps a Caterpie grow into Butterfree before letting it go to pursue what it wants, and encounters the enigmatic Mythical Pokémon Marshadow. As their destination draws closer, Cross—Hitokage’s former Trainer—moves to block their path, forcing Satoshi and Pikachu to prove how far they’ve come.
