With the ensemble contest now behind them, the Kitauji High School concert band turns its full attention to the national competition, determined to take home a gold medal. For third-year club president Kumiko Oumae and her closest friends, the coming season is their final opportunity before graduation—an exciting prospect that also leaves Kumiko wondering whether she can truly guide everyone as their leader.

Kumiko’s unease deepens when she meets Mayu Kuroe, a transfer student with a calm, gentle presence and impressive euphonium ability. Mayu previously played with the Seira Girls' School concert band, a group known for regularly reaching nationals. Though Mayu approaches the club with warmth, Kumiko can’t shake a hard-to-name feeling sparked by their first encounter.

As fresh members join and preparations intensify, the band’s drive for gold pushes them to confront what it really means to perform at the national level.
