Synopsis
Ippan Saibou can’t help but feel a little left out as the immune cells—especially the white blood cells—earn constant praise for keeping the body safe. Wanting a chance to prove his own worth, he steps beyond his usual routine and ends up spotting a group of childlike bacteria being swept along by a rushing current. Even aware of the risk they pose, he pulls them to safety, hoping to do the right thing.
The rescue quickly puts him on a collision course with Hakkekkyuu U-1146, who senses the bacteria’s presence and begins tracking them down. Elsewhere, NK Saibou searches for a familiar target: an antigen the immune system has faced before, rumored to have returned with revenge in mind.
