In a Japan shrouded in ash from the cataclysmic eruption of Mount Fuji, life has drastically altered. The landscape resembles a desolate winter, with ash falling like snow, prompting many to abandon their homes for safer grounds. Yet, some remain, either by choice or circumstance, navigating their lives in an eerily quiet world.

Among these resilient souls is Rui Satou, a high school student who seeks connection in a time of isolation. Finding solace in the digital realm, he forms an unexpected friendship with Michiru, a girl living perilously close to the eruption’s aftermath. As their online conversations deepen, Rui feels compelled to meet Michiru in person, leading him to discover a connection that transcends their dire surroundings and challenges the very nature of their existence.
