High school classmates Mio Miyamasu and Arata Kishimo have been close since childhood. Mio’s feelings for Arata run deeper than friendship, yet she can’t bring herself to say so—going as far as denying it when Madoka presses her and even urging her friend to follow her own emotions instead.

A visit to a fortune-teller unsettles their already-fragile balance when Arata notices something unusual and tries to pull Mio out of the shop, sparking irritation that soon turns into a fight. Later, weighed down by regret, Mio heads out into the rain to apologize and finally be honest about what she feels—only for an unexpected accident to upend everything she knows.
