Bye Bye, Earth

In a world where nearly everyone bears animal traits, Belle Lablac is an outlier—human in appearance, and with no clear answer about where she came from. Seeking the truth behind her origins, she leaves her hometown for Schubertland, hoping to be recognized as a Nomad by its ruler, King Rawhide. Along the way, Belle is guided and trained by the famed swordsman Sian Lablac.

Her path only grows more difficult when a complication leaves her unable to harm others with her renowned sword, Runding. Forced to win fights by shattering opponents’ blades—a practice scorned by society—Belle becomes an easy target for contempt, both for her looks and for defying accepted customs. Even so, she presses forward, determined to carve out a place for herself in a world that refuses to make room for her.
