High schooler Gorou Ono’s life veers off course after a mysterious text promises to grant any wish. He uses it to indulge his lewd fantasies with his classmate Sawa Honoka—only for the “wish-granter” to appear in person as a demon named Lall, who tells him he’s been drafted into a deadly contest to decide the next God of the world. The situation turns immediately violent when Sawa attacks Gorou with an enormous sword, revealing she’s a participant too.

Each contender is given a unique ability, and Gorou survives by killing Sawa with his own power: the Holy Book of the Fool. Victory comes with a cruel drawback, however—every use of the book makes Gorou’s life deteriorate further. With the rules still unclear and danger closing in, he’s forced to seek allies and master his power before the game strips away everything he has left.
