In the vibrant Taisho era, where romance and camaraderie intertwine, five seemingly ordinary male students of Binan High School find themselves in an unusual predicament. Members of the laid-back Earth Defense Club, they spend their days in the comfort of their clubroom at the Kurotama dormitory, seemingly indifferent to the world outside. However, their tranquil routine is disrupted one fateful morning when a peculiar encounter in their bath leads to the discovery of a talking Pallas's cat named Nuru.

Nuru arrives from a distant future bearing urgent news: Earth is on the brink of destruction. Tasked with a mission to alert the students, he leaves the choice of action in their hands. Skeptical yet intrigued, the members of the Defense Club debate the weight of responsibility while Unzen eagerly declares his willingness to fight for a cause that could lead to a more fashionable existence. With newfound resolve and Nuru's transformative powers, they become the Haikara Romantic Troupe. Meanwhile, an enigmatic group known as the Bankara New Elite Squad lurks in the shadows, plotting their own scheme to seize control of the planet. As the lines between duty and desire blur, the fate of Earth rests in the hands of these unlikely heroes.
