Synopsis
In a world where hidden agendas reign, Jiang Yuan, a skilled assassin from the Tai Xuan Tower, and Shao Yue, the revered holy maiden of the Jiu Xuan Sect, find themselves united in an unexpected marriage of convenience. Tasked with a mission on their wedding night, both attempt to eliminate the other, only to uncover a shocking truth: they are immortal beings. This revelation sets the stage for a complex relationship, as they navigate their roles in a charade of mutual deception while each seeks the powerful treasures—the Demon-Suppressing Bell and the Demon-Controlling Bell—held by their respective sects.
As their partnership evolves, a deeper connection forms amidst a backdrop of skepticism and intrigue. Unbeknownst to them, both Jiang Yuan and Shao Yue are survivors of an alien civilization decimated by the enigmatic "Void." Together, they embark on a perilous quest not only to reclaim the treasures derived from a lost spaceship but also to confront the looming threats of their cultivation world. In their journey, they strive to uncover hope and strength to challenge the darkness that looms over their existence.
Otaku Consensus
Aliens Among Immortals is best read as a niche donghua bet rather than a proven breakout: its 60-episode plan, Tinghe Li's direction, and Suoyi Technology's CGI-forward production give its cultivation intrigue more runway than most short-form action fantasy. The early international footprint is tiny, with MAL popularity at #17762, MAL rank at #16268, and only 4 AniList favorites, so the clearest criticism is discoverability and thin overseas documentation rather than a settled backlash to the work itself.
Why You Should Watch
Watch Aliens Among Immortals if you want cultivation fantasy that treats sect politics, marital alliance, and cosmic science fiction as the same battlefield rather than separate genres. Its appeal is closer to the long-game pleasures of Soul Land than a seasonal shonen sprint: 60 planned episodes give room for shifting loyalties, artifact-driven power logic, and martial-arts escalation without resetting the board every arc. The AniList tag mix is unusually even, with Full CGI, Cultivation, Aliens, and Arranged Marriage all sitting at 20%, which signals a show built around collision rather than a single hook. Viewers who like historical robes and sect hierarchies but are tired of purely mythic xianxia cosmology have the clearest reason to sample it, especially if full-CGI donghua is a feature, not a dealbreaker.
Key Characters
- YYuan Jiang
A Tai Xuan Tower assassin whose appeal lies in the contrast between professional lethality and the need to perform domestic diplomacy inside enemy-adjacent sect politics.
- YYue Shao
The Jiu Xuan Sect's holy maiden brings equal parts institutional authority and tactical suspicion, making her more than a passive arranged-marriage counterpart.
What Makes It Stand Out
- 1
The series is credited to Suoyi Technology, with Tinghe Li directing and Shengyan Zhang and Ni Li listed in executive producer and producer roles respectively.
- 2
Its 60-episode count gives it a longer runway than many internationally cataloged donghua entries, especially for a title still marked as currently airing after its March 3, 2026 start.
- 3
AniList's tags split attention evenly across Full CGI, Cultivation, Aliens, and Arranged Marriage at 20% each, a rare metadata profile for a historical martial-arts fantasy entry.
- 4
The database character list is unusually concentrated: only Yuan Jiang and Yue Shao are identified as main characters, reinforcing the show's two-hander structure rather than a broad ensemble pitch.
- 5
Its international visibility remains extremely low, with MAL popularity at #17762 and AniList favorites at 4, making it an underground catalog title rather than a widely discussed seasonal staple.
