Synopsis
In the ancient realm of the Shakya Kingdom, King Suddhodhana receives news of a remarkable dream experienced by his wife, Maya. In her vision, a majestic white elephant with six tusks enters her womb, heralding the arrival of their future son, Siddhartha Gautama, who is prophesied to become a great leader. The esteemed seer Master Asita confirms this promise, declaring that Siddhartha will rise to become a "chakravartin," a ruler destined to influence the world.
Amidst this royal narrative, young Chapra grapples with the harsh realities of the caste system, striving for a better life for himself and his mother. When the formidable Kosala army threatens Kapilavastu, the capital of Shakya, Chapra plays a crucial role in defending their home. However, yearning for freedom from oppression, he joins the Kosala forces, determined to ascend through their ranks. As Siddhartha matures, he is groomed for kingship, yet feels little affinity for the responsibilities of leadership or warfare. Instead, he embarks on a quest for deeper understanding and enlightenment, choosing to leave behind his royal heritage in pursuit of the truths that lie beyond the palace walls, even as the looming threat of Kosala's ambition casts a shadow over his journey.
