Akito Takagi and Moritaka Mashiro—working under the pen name Muto Ashirogi—move a step closer to their dream as their new manga, *Detective Trap*, begins serialization. For Mashiro, getting into print is only the beginning: he’s still chasing the promise he made to his childhood friend and aspiring voice actress, Azuki Miho—to marry her once his work receives an anime adaptation—so he throws himself into making their title a bigger success.

With *Shounen Jack* packed with driven creators, the competition is fierce and sometimes unexpectedly supportive.
