On their third serialization, Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi—known to readers as the manga team Muto Ashirogi—move closer than ever to the long-awaited goal of an anime adaptation. But the pressure spikes when they’re given a harsh deadline: unless they can match artist Eiji Niizuma’s ranking performance within six months, their work will be canceled. With ambitious competitors closing in and openly challenging them, even daydreaming about an adaptation starts to feel like a luxury.
