God Eater Prologue

Humanity has been pushed to the brink by the Aragami—ravenous monsters that consume everything in their path—leaving only scattered strongholds still standing. Ordinary weapons are useless against them; only arms forged from “Oracle Cells,” the same substance that forms the Aragami, can bring them down.

Even that advantage begins to fade as the Aragami rapidly evolve new resistances. With options running out, the remnants of human governments plan a desperate measure: detonating a nuclear reactor to eradicate the Aragami threatening Eurasia. To support the soldiers assigned to the operation, three God Eaters arrive from Fenrir’s Far East Branch, the organization that holds what remains of Japan. Armed with advanced God Arcs designed to pierce an Aragami’s hide and destroy its core, they represent a final, fragile chance to hold extinction at bay.
