Guilty Crown

On December 24, 2029—remembered as “Lost Christmas”—the Apocalypse Virus tears through Japan, claiming countless lives and throwing the nation into chaos. The United Nations responds by deploying the GHQ to contain the catastrophe, but the intervention comes at a steep cost: Japan’s political autonomy is stripped away. Ten years later, the country remains under GHQ control, trapped beneath an unforgiving occupation.

Opposing that rule is the Funeral Parlor, a resistance group led by the magnetic Gai Tsutsugami, who plans to seize a vial known as the “Void Genome.” When the vial ends up with internet singer Inori Yuzuriha, she becomes the target of the GHQ’s Anti-Bodies and flees to a warehouse, where she encounters Shuu Ouma, a socially withdrawn high schooler and devoted fan of her music.

Shuu’s attempt to protect Inori pulls him into the struggle, and when the Void Genome shatters in his hand, he awakens the “Power of the Kings.” As he learns to wield this newfound ability, Shuu is forced to stand against the forces tightening their grip on Japan.
