Thirty-two years have elapsed since humanity's first victory over the Invaders, leading to the disbandment of A.E.G.I.S. Now operating in the shadows, the remnants of this once-mighty organization consist of a handful of Gate Keepers, determined to protect humanity against the looming threat. Among them is Ayane Isuzu, a disillusioned fighter who battles the Invaders not only out of duty but also as a means of rebelling against her father's legacy.

When the sinister forces of Machine General and Devil Count resurface, accompanied by an enigmatic ghostly figure, Ayane finds herself thrust back into a conflict that she thought was long over. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, she and her fellow Gate Keepers must confront not only external foes but also the internal struggles that threaten to divide them.
