*Moyashimon Returns* picks up right where the previous season left off, as Professor Itsuki’s Fermentation Cellar and laboratory finally prepare to begin full operation. With Sawaki Tadayasu’s unusual ability to see and communicate with microbes, the work of fermentation takes on a distinctly lively edge.

Joined by Itsuki’s eclectic group of students, Sawaki helps set the lab’s plans in motion, turning their attention to producing a range of fermented staples—among them soy sauce and sake—blending campus life, culinary curiosity, and a touch of the supernatural.
