Yuugo Hachiken is diligent and serious, but worn down by the pressure of expectations he can’t seem to satisfy. At the start of a new school year, he transfers to Ooezo Agricultural High School, a boarding school in rural Hokkaido, hoping distance from home will give him room to breathe.

He arrives confident he’ll excel, only to find himself outmatched by classmates raised on farms who already understand crops, food production, and the realities of livestock. Early mornings, demanding work, and hands-on care for animals quickly expose how unprepared he is for agricultural life. As Hachiken navigates this unfamiliar world and the people he meets there, he begins searching for what he truly wants—aiming to shape a future on his own terms.
