Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border 1: Ghost Pain

Set in 2027, a year after the Fourth Non-Nuclear War, New Port City is still struggling to recover when a self-propelled mine triggers a bombing. Soon after, a military figure tied to bribery in an arms-dealing scandal is assassinated, drawing multiple agencies into a tense investigation.

Public Security Section’s Daisuke Aramaki crosses paths with Motoko Kusanagi, a highly advanced cyborg hacker attached to the military’s 501st Secret Unit, while Batou—known for his tireless “eye that does not sleep”—begins to suspect Motoko’s involvement. As Niihama Prefectural Police detective Togusa juggles the shooting alongside a separate prostitute murder case, Motoko finds herself under scrutiny as well, monitored by the 501st’s commander Kurutsu and a team of cyborg operatives.
