Shuichi Shindou has one goal: to follow his idol Ryuichi Sakuma and the hit band Nittle Grasper into the spotlight. With his best friend Hiro, he forms Bad Luck and even lands a contract with a major label—but success comes with pressure. Studio deadlines close in, and Shuichi still can’t find the words for their songs, no matter how hard he tries to force inspiration.

A late-night walk in the park changes everything when his unfinished lyrics blow away and end up in the hands of a captivating stranger. The man is Eiri Yuki, a celebrated novelist, and his blunt verdict—Shuichi has “zero talent”—hits like a punch. Stung and determined, Shuichi throws himself back into writing, intent on confronting Yuki again, only to find his fixation may not be fueled by anger alone.
