Kiitaro's yokai picture diary

Kiitaro keeps a picture-diary of his everyday encounters with youkai. Gifted with an unusually sharp spiritual sensitivity, he’s cast out of his home after sneaking into a forbidden storehouse, leaving him to find a new place to stay.

In his new living arrangement, Kiitaro meets Suzu, a zashiki-warashi who shares the house with him. Before long, their quiet home becomes a magnet for strange visitors from folklore—among them Nurikabe, the wall-like spirit that blocks travelers, and Mokumokuren, the eerie eyes that appear in torn paper screens—setting the stage for whatever supernatural guest turns up next.
