Mahmut Tuğrul, the youngest Pasha of the Türkiye Stratocracy, holds a seat on the Divan—the council that leads the nation. Marked by the wartime loss of his mother and village twelve years earlier, he devotes himself to public service with a single aim: to keep his homeland from being dragged into another cycle of slaughter.

The uneasy calm following Türkiye’s last clash with the expansionist Balt-Rhein Empire begins to crack as border unrest, competing interests, and scattered skirmishes threaten to ignite a new war. With pressure mounting on all sides, Mahmut’s ideals and lack of experience become liabilities in the eyes of those in power, and he is relieved of his position—only to find that the fall from rank opens the door to unexpected allies. Facing a continent on the brink, he must thread through political maneuvering and the realities of the battlefield to defend the peace he believes in and earn recognition as a leader.
