A new school year brings big changes to Kitauji High School’s concert band. With the third-years graduated and a fresh group of first-years arriving, the club throws itself back into intense rehearsals, aiming for a place at nationals.

Now a second-year, Kumiko Oumae and her friends find the newcomers’ strong personalities and unfamiliar dynamics stirring up tension within the ensemble. As rehearsals continue, unspoken feelings and misunderstandings begin to surface, and not every rift can be smoothed over quickly. With regionals ahead, the band’s unity—and the trust holding it together—faces a serious test.
