Synopsis
Set in 15th-century France amid the Hundred Years’ War against England and the struggle for the French crown, noble-born Montmorency studies magic and alchemy at a royal academy for training knights. His ambitions are cut short when France suffers a devastating defeat at Agincourt, leading to the school’s closure.
Stripped of his place and pursued as a wanted man, Montmorency has only just earned the title of alchemist when his path crosses with Jehanne, an enigmatic girl from a remote village—an encounter that draws him into a new and uncertain course.
